Transversal Accessibility to the Metropolitano in Lima, Peru

Study of accessibility of the 38 bus stations of the BRT Metropolitano in Lima (Perú), mobility demands and needs of disabled and other groups in the line, urban conexions and risks. Design improvements in stations and public thoroughfare for and improvement proposals in the 5 main for the use of people with functional limitations.

The project included the need to carry out a technical and social diagnosis for the selection of one or more of the COSAC1 stations in order to improve pedestrian safety and remove urban barriers that deter people with disabilities from using the system. A multicriteria matrix was constructed with information extracted from  focus groups, ethnographies, dynamic and in-depth interviews and the study of the characteristics of the demand for transport of persons with disabilities or functional limitations, through counts and interviews by interception.
